Jumping in to Summer

As the weather warms and my rhythms change, I’m looking forward to trying new things this summer! Local folks can catch me at the very first ArtBattle Philadelphia on Friday May 24th at Spin Philly.

You can find details, tickets, and register to vote for your favorite paintings by clicking the image below.

This summer I’ve expanded my Acrylic Painting Studio at the New Castle County Art Studio with 4 week sessions in June and August. Registration is open now until the classes fill or one week before class begins. To view the schedule and join in, click here.

Finally, I will be periodically releasing my small works on paper to the shop here on the website. Each piece is matted and ready to pop in a standard sized frame. To get the first announcements for when new work is released, please be sure to sign up for my newsletter!

Settling in for a Cozy Winter

It’s been an exciting and busy fall taking steps creating The Ladies’ Art House by joining the Studios@ The Delaware Contemporary community.

The Ladies' Art House is a collective, founded by painter Jen Hintz Eggers, dedicated to creating space to thrive on the exchange of ideas and resources within a creative community. Each of our practices become stronger when we avoid isolation and combine our varied strengths or share responsibility. In founding this collective, we seek to hold anti-discriminatory space for women and people with lived experience of misogyny. Our founding members are installation artist Kristina Ellura and painter Rebecca Howell.

As we enter the winter months and I have my studio corner fully outfitted, I’m excitedly diving in to new works. One such piece will be on display as part of “Escape Hatch: A Studio Artists’ Small Works Show” which is on view through the end of December.

In January, I am thrilled to be participating in the first ever Art Queens Member Exhibition! The collection of royal gems will be on view January 5th-18th, 2024 with an opening reception on the evening of January 5th at Paradigm Gallery (3rd Floor) in Philadelphia

Winter classes are open for registration at the New Castle County Art Studio in Newport. I am once again offering sessions of “Painting for Beginners” and “Acrylic Painting Studio” beginning in January. All skill levels are welcome!

If you’d like to schedule a time to visit the studio, please send me a note and we’ll set a date. If you haven’t been to the Delaware Contemporary before, it’s easily accessible via I95 with ample parking and just a few blocks from the Wilmington Amtrak Station.

Summer Plans and Prints on Demand

Our opening reception at the Balanced Breastfeeding clubhouse was a lovely evening. It was a joy to share this work with everyone who visited. Thank you to everyone who came out!

If you weren’t able to join us, you can view the exhibition until the end of May. Please contact me for details.

My new paintings have now been added to the website, you can check out the full series here. If you’re interested in collecting an original, please email me to confirm availability. I’ve also made the works from “Structures of Sustenance” and “Mammary Flowers” available for printing on demand through Fine Art America.

A portion of all artwork sales in the month of May will be donated to Postpartum Support International of Delaware.

I will be kicking off my summer with by retreating to the mountains of North Carolina with fellow members of the Thrive Together Artist Network. If you follow me on Instagram, my account will go quiet as I’ll be taking a break from social media for the month of June.

The summer camps at the New Castle County Art Studio are all lined up, and my classes for adults will resume in the fall. You can receive updates directly from the county by signing up for The Happenings or keep an eye out for my newsletter updates!

I hope you will find time to adventure and enjoy this season of long days and warm breezes!
