Settling in for a Cozy Winter

It’s been an exciting and busy fall taking steps creating The Ladies’ Art House by joining the Studios@ The Delaware Contemporary community.

The Ladies' Art House is a collective, founded by painter Jen Hintz Eggers, dedicated to creating space to thrive on the exchange of ideas and resources within a creative community. Each of our practices become stronger when we avoid isolation and combine our varied strengths or share responsibility. In founding this collective, we seek to hold anti-discriminatory space for women and people with lived experience of misogyny. Our founding members are installation artist Kristina Ellura and painter Rebecca Howell.

As we enter the winter months and I have my studio corner fully outfitted, I’m excitedly diving in to new works. One such piece will be on display as part of “Escape Hatch: A Studio Artists’ Small Works Show” which is on view through the end of December.

In January, I am thrilled to be participating in the first ever Art Queens Member Exhibition! The collection of royal gems will be on view January 5th-18th, 2024 with an opening reception on the evening of January 5th at Paradigm Gallery (3rd Floor) in Philadelphia

Winter classes are open for registration at the New Castle County Art Studio in Newport. I am once again offering sessions of “Painting for Beginners” and “Acrylic Painting Studio” beginning in January. All skill levels are welcome!

If you’d like to schedule a time to visit the studio, please send me a note and we’ll set a date. If you haven’t been to the Delaware Contemporary before, it’s easily accessible via I95 with ample parking and just a few blocks from the Wilmington Amtrak Station.
